Cher has announced the tragic news her mum Georgia Holt has died at the age of 96.
The legendary singer, 76, shared the heartbreaking news on Twitter on Sunday afternoon (local time) – just months after she told fans her mum was hospitalised with pneumonia.
“Mom is gone,” Cher wrote, along with a sad face emoji.

In September, the singer revealed her mum had been suffering from recurring health issues.
“Sorry I’ve Been Mia. Mom’s Been Sick Off & On. She Just Got Out Of Hosp. She Had Pneumonia,” Cher wrote at the time.
“Home is the Best Medicine For Her. She’s Getting Better.”
