EXCLUSIVE: Premeditated Productions, the newly launched shingle of powerhouse Entangled publisher Liz Pelletier and Sherryl Clark, the film veteran known for posts at the likes of Crooked Highway and Bad Robot, has hired seasoned television exec Julie Jarmon as SVP, TV.
Now responsible for overseeing all aspects of Premeditated’s TV business, under the company’s Amazon MGM Studios-based first-look deal, Jarmon brings a wealth of experience to the company with more than 15 years in scripted programming and development, including numerous high-profile series with premium producers and fresh voices across the TV landscape. In her last position as Senior Vice President and Head of Scripted Development for Disney’s Freeform, she oversaw more than 50 drama, comedy, and animation projects, including Praise Petey, Everything Is Trash, and The Watchful Eye. Prior to Freeform, she served as Vice President, Scripted Development at The CW.
“Julie is a rising star with incredible relationships, great taste, and is a huge fan of the Entangled IP,” said Premeditated principal Clark. “We are so lucky to have her join our new company.”
Also new to Premeditated is Cayla Tyne, who after spending the last five years rising through the ranks at Sony, has joined as Director of Development, Film. As a Creative Executive, Tyne played a key role in shaping films such as Anyone But You, Gran Turismo, and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, among many others. She will be working across all of Premeditated’s film projects, reporting to Clark and Pelletier.
Said Pelletier, “Cayla has a real passion for unique narratives, romantic comedy, and complex female-driven stories. We are thrilled to have her join Premeditated Productions.”
Launched back in August with a three-year first-look TV and film deal at Amazon MGM Studios, Premeditated will look to produce premium projects for film, television and gaming, based on Entangled IP. The indie publisher’s best known property is Fourth Wing, the hugely popular romantic fantasy novel, which Amazon is developing for TV, as we were first to report. Currently, the company is also in development on an adaptation of Hannah Nicole Maehrer’s Assistant to the Villain at Legendary.
Premeditated is represented by Independent Artist Group and Caitlin DiMotta at Cowan, DeBaets, Abrahams & Sheppard LLP.
