Man finds previous owner’s dead body in basement of house he just bought
Officials in Ohio say a man found a decomposing body in the basement of a home that was recently purchased.
WOIO reports the owner purchased the property on Noble Road through a foreclosure sale in Cuyahoga County.
According to Cleveland Heights Director of Communications Mike Thomas, the new homeowner called police around 11.40am Tuesday after finding the body in the home’s basement.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the body as 71-year-old Nina Fielden.
Thomas said Fielden was the previous owner of the home.
The Cuyahoga County medical examiner reported not finding any signs of trauma on the woman’s body while continuing to determine her cause of death.
Many were devastated by the passing of Fielden, who was previously a nurse and nursing educator.
“I’m sick that this caring, educated, dedicated human died alone in a basement and her departure from society was not noted until the house was sold at a sheriffs auction,” a former colleague at the Cleveland Clinic commented on Facebook.
“Omg how sad. No one missed her. No family. We need to check on the elderly. RIP Nina,” another said.
Meanwhile, former colleagues in the CCF ER (Cleveland Clinic emergency department) Reunion Group described her as a “dear friend”.
“Such a cruel end to a beautiful life of service to others,” another former colleague said.
“Such a tragedy. Rest in peace Nina and may God bless your family who now has to deal with all of this!!! I am just in shock,” another said.
