On April 15, 2024, 7NEWS Sydney broadcast a news item about a crash that occurred on the M1 in which a 27-year-old was tragically killed and an elderly man was critically injured.
Based on information obtained at the time of the incident, 7NEWS Sydney reported the 27-year-old had been travelling in the wrong direction on the M1.
We have now been made aware that it was the 96-year-old man who was, in fact, driving in the wrong direction.
7NEWS Sydney regrets this error and apologises for any confusion or distress caused.
