Armed assailants stormed the Crocus City Hall, opening fire with automatic weapons and setting off explosions, causing chaos and panic among concertgoers. The attackers reportedly threw a grenade or an explosive device, which ignited a fire within the venue. Video footage from the scene showed the complex engulfed in flames and smoke billowing into the air.
The attackers, dressed in camouflage, entered the concert hall before the start of the concert by the band Picnic, initiating the violent assault. The footage captured scenes of panic as people sought shelter, screamed, and tried to escape the gunfire echoing through the hall. Some individuals were forced to break windows to flee the venue, while others huddled together in fear. In response to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated, “All involved in the barbaric Crocus City Hall attack will be punished.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin Responds
Russian President Vladimir Putin responded by saying, “The perpetrators of the Crocus attack tried to escape to Ukraine, according to preliminary information.” This is a strike against Russia. We expect that other nation share our pain. We will stand together. Nobody can divide us.”
He continued ahead, saying, “We will be investigating this terrorist attack. And we already have some results. Perpetrators tried to escape and moving towards border of Ukraine. We have data suggesting that they were about to be moved toward the territory of Ukraine. Our military services, emergency services and investigators are working on finding out the orchestrator of this terrorist attack. Investigation is on..those who gave them transportation, who gave them weapons etc. Trying to identify all the details. We will identify everyone and they will pay for it.
Putin says, “I am speaking to you today in connection with the bloody, barbaric terrorist act, the victims of which were dozens of innocent, peaceful people… I declare 24th March a day of national mourning.”
