Boy, 5, killed after being hit by Ford Fiesta on busy road in horrific broad-daylight smash

A 5-YEAR-OLD boy has been killed in a horror crash after being hit by a Ford Fiesta in broad daylight.

The fatal collision happened at Penpillick Hill, on the A390 near St Austell in Cornwall, shortly before 5pm yesterday.

Devon and Cornwall Police scrambled to the scene after reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a Ford Fiesta.

The force say the pedestrian, a five-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

His next of kin have been informed.

Cops confirmed that the driver of the car was uninjured.
