Cara Delevigne rages in explosive new Cabaret rehearsal images | Theatre | Entertainment

Things are hotting up in the rehearsal studios for the upcoming cast change in the record-breaking London adaptation of the Kander and Ebb musical, Cabaret.

Cara Delevigne has been pictured screaming and raging in the brand-new images below snapped at the rehearsal studios.

The supermodel graced magazine covers and catwalks with poised perfection, the epitome of classy Brit cool, but she is boldly strutting out of her comfort zone in her latest challenging project.

The 31-year-old has been successfully acting in movies since 2012’s Anna Karenina and had leading roles on the small screen in shows like Only Murders in the Building, Carnival Row and American Horror Story: Delicate – but this is her first major role on the stage.

Cara Delevingne will take over as Sally Bowles with Olivier Award-winning actor Luke Treadaway as The Emcee, alongside Michael Ahomka-Lindsay as Clifford Bradshaw from 11 March 2024.

Stars like Eddie Redmayne, Jake Shears and Jessie Buckley have already starred in the current revival of the iconic show at the Kit Kat Club in London.

The role of Sally was made famous on the big screen by Liza Minelli in the Oscar-winning 1972 film and director Rebecca Frecknall’s new adaptation requires extraordinary lengths from the performers. Check out the shots of them in full costume and make-up below.

Delevigne said of her new role:” There are no words to explain the excitement I have to return home to make my stage debut in such an iconic role. I am so inspired by the brilliant actors who have played Sally in past productions around the world and in this one in the West End. I cannot wait to be a part of this brilliant cast and production.”

Treadaway won an Olivier for the lead role in The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and has also starred in productions like War Horse and Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf alongside numerous TV and film roles.

He said: “I can’t wait to become a member of the Kit Kat Club and join this extraordinary production. It’s a huge thrill to be asked to take this on and I’m very excited to get started.”

This inventive production immerses audiences in the world of 1930’s Berlin, a time of desperate hedonism increasingly overshadowed by the menacing rise of Nazism.

London’s Playhouse Theatre has been totally transformed into the KIT KAT CLUB, the interiors remodeled to create a cabaret venue in the round. A separate company of performers entertains atop bars and behind beaded curtains around the venue for an hour before the main show starts, so make sure you get there early.

The main show, of course, includes all the iconic numbers like Wilkommen, Maybe This Time, Money and the title number.
