City of Nedlands mayor Fiona Argyle joins Liberal Party fuelling speculation of a switch to State politics

Recently re-elected Nedlands Mayor Fiona Argyle has joined the Liberal Party and could be a candidate at the next State election, despite challenging a Liberal MP as an independent last time out.

Ms Argyle — who was in October re-elected mayor with 50 per cent of the vote in a three-way contest — told The West Australian she had applied to join the Liberals “in loving memory” of her great grandfather, former Victorian premier Sir Stanley Argyle.
