Henry Cavill finally speaks out on next James Bond casting rumours | Films | Entertainment

Back in 2005, Henry Cavill scored a rising star’s dream after bagging a secret James Bond audition.

Yet despite having the right looks, the future Superman was too young at 22 and lost out on starring in Casino Royale to Daniel Craig.

Now over two and half years since the latter bowed out of the franchise in No Time To Die and Cavill continues to be a bookies’ favourite for the part.

There may be rumours that Aaron Taylor-Johnson has bagged the role of the new 007, but The Witcher star continues to be very open about his desire to finally take up the Licence to Kill.

And in a new interview he spoke out on those next Bond rumours.

Cavill was recently asked about the next Bond rumours while promoting the US release of his new movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.

Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, the almost 41-year-old said: “I have no idea. All I’ve got to go off is the rumours. The same information you have. Maybe I’m too old now. Maybe I’m not. It’s up to Barbara Broccoli and Mike Wilson, and we’ll see what their plans are.”

Already being an established star and over 40 could be against him, but Cavill is yet to shut the door to 007.
