Is this the most WA tattoo ever? Cockburn resident gets Mrs Macs pie and Masters Iced Coffee tatt

How far would you go to prove your love for our State?

Cockburn resident Shaun was snapped getting one of the most iconic West Australian tattoos of all time on Wednesday, which has to be seen to be believed.

However, it was a love of a different kind that inspired his most recent trip to the tattoo parlour.

The seasoned canvas entered Lost City Tattoo in Spearwood where he received an eye-catching back tatt featuring both a Mrs Mac’s pie and a Masters Iced Coffee — a smoko favourite.

Two of WA’s proudest exports, Shaun could then be seen devouring both of the tradie staples as so many had done before him.

The tattoo parlour posted a short video and photo on Instagram capturing the moment, with Jimmy Barnes’ blue-collar classic Working Class Man accompanying it.

Sharing the story behind the tatt with PerthNow, the 43-year-old revealed the decision to add the unique body art to his collection was an ode to his uncle, who died in 2022.

Born and bred in WA, the former boilermaker hoped to tie his routes with a cherished childhood memory of his late family member.

“When we were kids, he would always take us for an ice cream down at Cockburn Sound Shacks.

“And, when he’d buy us an ice cream, he’d always get himself a Masters Iced coffee and a Mrs. Mac’s pie,” Sean revealed.

“It was also the last meal I bought him before he passed away.”

While Shaun’s intent was partially to make friends laugh on Facebook, which it has, he admits his family has yet to see the fresh ink.

“I do have some tattoos that will make people laugh. But as for this side of things, this is a one-off,” he said.

Unsure if the tattoo was “WA’s most iconic”, Shaun did imagine it would connect with a larger portion of the State.

And he didn’t have to wait long to be proven right.

“A lady walked past the shop, she stopped and that’s the first thing she said you know, ‘I love Masters Iced Coffee and Mrs. Mac’s pies’,” he recalled.

Inspired by his uncle, Shaun has surely encouraged many West Aussies to double park at their next smoko with a Masters Ice Coffee and Mrs Macs pie in hand.
