Lesmurdie Falls: Injured child winched to safety by helicopter after falling down waterfall in Perth hills

A boy — believed to be under the age of 10 — has been winched to safety by the RAC rescue helicopter after he fell down Lesmurdie Falls.

The RAC Rescue chopper was dispatched to help save the injured child at Lesmurdie Falls in Forresfield on Monday afternoon.

A St John spokeswoman said they received a call around 3.30pm that a child — believed to be a male under the age of 10 — fell a significant distance at the Perth Hills tourist hotspot.

A DFES spokesman said firefighters were working to conduct a vertical rescue — with the child injured at the bottom of the rocky waterfall.
