A man has died after being found seriously injured wandering along a highway in regional NSW.
Police initially conducted a welfare check at a home in Cowra in the state’s Central West region about 10.35pm on Tuesday.
A short time later officers found a 43-year-old man with serious injuries to his arm wandering along the Mid Western Highway.

The officers attempted to assist the man and provide medical treatment.
Paramedics attended and treated the man before taking him to Cowra Hospital, where he later died.
A critical incident team from Central West Police District will investigate exactly what happened.
“The investigation will be subject to an independent review,” NSW Police said.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
