If it wasn’t enough that King Charles and Princess Kate were outed as the alleged racist royals in the latest book about the Royal Family, the late Queen Elizabeth has been dragged into the fray.

The Dutch version of Omid Scobie’s book Endgame revealed that it was Charles and Kate who reportedly had “concerns” about the skin colour of the Sussex’s son Archie.

But the book also mentions how Meghan was assigned the Queen’s Black equerry – an officer of the British royal household who attends the sovereign or other member of the Royal Family – so she would “feel comfortable.”

Scobie claims in the book that the appointment of Lt.-Col. Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah “stood out like a sore thumb.

“When Palace aides told reporters, including myself, they ‘bent over backwards’ to make Meghan feel comfortable at Buckingham Palace, this included a follow-up suggestion that perhaps the Queen’s Ghanaian-born household cavalry officer Lt.-Col. Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah should be the one to help Meghan,” Scobie wrote, according to the U.K. Sun.

He continued: “Though a charming and intelligent man, it stood out like a sore thumb to Meghan and her friends,” who were “insulted” by the proposed appointment.

Scobie noted the move was made likely due to a “lack of Black or other non-white staff” in “relevant senior roles.”

Meghan was initially assigned Lady Susan Hussey to help her adjust to her new royal duties, according to previous reports, but she “turned down the offer,” prompting the palace to suggest Twumasi-Ankrah as an alternative mentor.

Hussey ended up stepping down from royal duties in 2022 after making “unacceptable and deeply regrettable comments” to a Black domestic abuse campaigner.

In the couple’s interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, Meghan claimed two unnamed members of the Royal Family had raised concerns over the skin colour of their then-unborn son.

“About how dark your baby is going to be?” Winfrey asked at the time, to which Markle said, “Potentially, and what that would mean or look like.”

Charles or Kate have not responded to the accusations.
