Melaka govt launches measures to boost technological advancement among locals

MELAKA: The state government has launched measures to boost technological advancement among locals, said Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.

He said his administration was focusing on thriving Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes for local students as well as science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) for the locals to be marketable in the industry.

“Additionally, the state government is also making an effort to ensure youths have the required qualifications to move forward in the field through setting up of the Melaka Centre of Excellence,” he said during the opening of the 77th Technological Association Malaysia (TAM) national annual general meeting and annual dinner at a hotel here on Saturday(April 27).

His speech was read by Melaka Housing, local government, drainage, climate change and disaster management committee deputy chairman Datuk Zulkiflee Mohd Zin.

TAM president Tung Chee Kuan and state chairman Ng Hsin Loon were also present.

Ab Rauf also welcomed TAM to work closely with the state government to ensure the advancement of technology excellence in the state.

He also commended TAM for organising workshops, training sessions, seminars, and printing journals related to the field.
