Minister accused of turning blind eye to EDO links to activists charged with trespass at Woodside CEO’s home

The Federal Government did not seek departmental advice if the taxpayer-funded Environmental Defenders Office was legally involved in an alleged trespassing incident at the Perth home of Woodside Energy boss Meg O’Neill.

A response to a question on notice from Senate estimate hearings has revealed Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek did not consult the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water after four Disrupt Burrup Hub activists were arrested on intent to trespass charges at Ms O’Neill’s City Beach home on August 1.
