Pedestrian seriously injured in two-car smash at Sydney intersection

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after he was hit during a two-car collision in Surry Hills.

NSW police said the man aged in his 20s was found unresponsive after being hit on Fitzroy St at 10.50pm on Saturday.

Police said a witness reported two cars had crashed at the intersection with South Dowling St and one of the cars subsequently hit the man while he was crossing the road.

He was taken to St Vincent’s hospital with injuries to his face and head.

A 38-year-old driver of one of the cars was heavily pregnant and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police are continuing to investigate.
