Perth-based influencer Lauren Curtis has shocked fans with heartbreaking news about her partner’s ten-year health battle.
The 30-year-old took to Instagram stories on Saturday to update her 1.1 million followers on her partner Reece Daniel’s health after comments were raised about his appearance when she posted a family photo of the couple the day before.
“I posted a family photo with Reece and Mia yesterday,” she began.
“I’ve deleted the post now because I don’t want to ruin happy memories of that photo.
“A few people have asked if Reece is okay and I was like ‘huh?’ And then I read some of the comments and it was about how he looked sick.”
“He is sick, unfortunately.”
The beauty-focused influencer then revealed Reece has been suffering from liver disease for ten years and that it had worsened a lot more recently.
“He’s had liver disease for the past ten years. It’s just getting worse now, it’s progressing now,” she said.
“It’s always been progressing because it’s chronic but now it’s at the point where you can tell by looking at him because his skin’s yellow and his eyes have gone yellow like jaundice from his liver.
“So yeah that’s just the reality of it, unfortunately. He will need a transplant eventually, I don’t know when but that’s what caused his sickness earlier in the year… that was a really bad liver infection.”
Curtis has been in a relationship with Reece since 2014 and the pair built a house together in the southwest of WA earlier this year.
She also came in at No. 8 on an Aussie influencer list of 100 this year.
