Recent Twiggy Scarborough claim contradicts Forrest-backed Squadron over the realities of energy transition

A recent flyby by Andrew Forrest at Woodside’s Scarborough Project during which he claimed gas was a “poisonous energy” has contradicted a submission by his own energy company, which says the resource is needed to meet net zero.

In a submission to the Government’s Future Gas Strategy, Squadron Energy — which is backed by Mr Forrest — outlined gas-powered generation would need to be used as a firming fuel source to provide reliability to energy grids, when renewable sources are unable to meet demand.
