Report: Kings fear Malik Monk has MCL sprain

Sacramento Kings guard Malik Monk is feared to have suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

The injury occurred in the first quarter of Friday’s loss to the Dallas Mavericks, when Monk collided with Luka Doncic. He did not return to the game.

Monk entered play Friday having appeared in 71 games off the bench for the Kings, averaging a career-high 15.6 points.

Earlier Friday, the Kings announced starting guard Kevin Huerter will have season-ending shoulder surgery.
