A CAREER in healthcare can be demanding, albeit rewarding. It requires not only a strong understanding of various scientific disciplines but also a diverse range of skills and competencies.
Newcastle University Medicine Malaysia’s (NUMed) Foundation in Biological and Biomedical Sciences programme lays the groundwork by equipping prospective healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills and values needed to excel – both during their studies and beyond.
“A regularly updated curriculum ensures relevance by incorporating the latest medical advancements and evidence-based practices,” says NUMed foundation programme lecturer Ainul Farhana Razak.

Upon completing the foundation programme to the required level, students may pursue the acclaimed Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), subject to an interview, or the 2+1 BSc (Honours) Biomedical Sciences programme at NUMed, as well as a wide range of programmes at Newcastle University in the UK.
