The Guardian Australia’s political editor Katharine Murphy has announced she is leaving journalism to take up a role working in Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s office.

But the move has drawn a tongue-in-cheek rebuke from the Opposition, with Liberal Leader Peter Dutton taking to social media with a sarcastic swipe at Ms Murphy and one of her press gallery colleagues.
