New York-based TikTok star Eva Evans, who was also trying to become recognised in the traditional entertainment industry, has died. She was 29.
Evans was known for her social media stories on the dating scene in New York and her life as a budding filmmaker.
She had more than 305,000 followers on TikTok and 28,000 on Instagram.

“Yesterday my family received news that our sweet, fabulous, creative, caring, hilarious Eva, my beautiful sister, has died,” Evans’ sister wrote on Instagram.
“After 24 hours, I still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so I know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be.”
She did not share a cause of death.
The post ended with the news that the family would hold a celebration of her life on April 23.
“I wish I had Eva here now to refer to because she would have better words and know how to say what I don’t,” she went on.
“I am keeping this brief, so we can plan for the next few days, but you’ll be hearing a lot more from me on how much Eva means to me and just how different the world will be without her.”
Fans and friends shared support.
“I literally can’t believe this,” model and actress Julia Fox said.
“This is heartbreaking. I’m so so so sorry sending you and your family all of my love and strength,” fellow influencer Lindsay Vrckovnik said.
“The loss is unfathomable, to those of us lucky enough to have known her brilliance and goodness, but also to the world, which is not the place it was meant to be without her. Godspeed, Lila, and love 💔,” author Suzy Welch said.
Evans’ final Instagram post was made on April 18, as she posed candidly on the New York subway.
“Today, I discovered that there’s no Yankees emoji? I’ve heard people try to claim that NYC isn’t the centre of the universe before, but I just wasn’t expecting this. Do better @apple,” one said.
Evans was also a rising star in the entertainment industry.
She co-directed, co-wrote and starred in the Prime Video series Club Rat that follows an influencer navigating the chaotic New York dating scene after a humiliating breakup goes viral.
Five episodes were released in 2023.
