Under-pressure WA Ombudsman ‘steps down’ from contentious international role amid CCC probe

WA’s under-pressure ombudsman has “stepped down” from a role with a little-known international body that is now being scrutinised by the Corruption and Crime Commission.

Chris Field told the Commission on Wednesday he had stepped down from the presidency of the Vienna-based International Ombudsman Institute because of the CCC inquiry, though there was no indication when he had left the post or whether the departure was permanent.
