UP Police Paper Leak 2024: Uttar Pradesh authorities have vehemently denied rumours of a paper leak circulating on social media platforms regarding the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination. Despite these claims lacking evidence, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPBPB) assured the public that the examination proceeded smoothly without any irregularities.
The UPPBPB, through its official social media channels, refuted the fake news and urged the public not to spread misleading information. A post shared on the UP Police Fact Check account reiterated the board’s commitment to conducting the examination with integrity and transparency.
DGP Prashant Kumar stated that the examination was conducted peacefully and cleanly across all 2385 centres of the state on both days and in all four shifts. Senior police and administration officials continuously visited all districts. Approximately 48 lakh candidates appeared for the examination on the day.
During the final day of the written examination administered by the UPPBPB for the recruitment of 60244 constables, a significant crackdown ensued. On Sunday alone, 93 individuals were apprehended to maintain the exam’s integrity. Since February 15, a total of 287 arrests have been made as part of a concerted campaign by district police and the STF to prevent cheating, targeting examinees, solvers, solver gang members, and individuals accused of paper leaks.
On Sunday, authorities arrested nine individuals from the Shikohabad police station area of Firozabad. The Special Task Force (STF) detained three people from Prayagraj and three from Ballia. In Purvanchal, 41 individuals, many associated with paper leak gangs or exam substitution, were apprehended. Additional arrests were made in various regions, including 16 in Ballia, 17 in Ghazipur, six in Mau, and two in Varanasi. On Saturday, 41 arrests were made in Purvanchal.
In Kanpur and Chitrakoot, police arrested one solver each on Sunday. On the same day, three solvers and two candidates were detained in the Gorakhpur-Basti division. In Sant Kabir Nagar, two solvers were caught substituting for others, one from the Munger district of Bihar and the other a girl from Sant Kabirnagar impersonating her sister. Similarly, in Siddharthnagar, a solver from Bihar was caught appearing for a candidate from Deoria in the first shift at Siddharth College, Birdpur.
On Saturday, the UP Police reported that 15 individuals were apprehended by the Etah Police for plotting to manipulate the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Examination. Following their arrest, authorities recovered Rs 2 lakh cash, 64 mark sheets, 30 caste certificates, 30 domicile certificates, and 23 admit cards from their possession.
The Uttar Pradesh Police has apprehended 15 individuals for their alleged involvement in the UP Police Constable 2024 question paper leak case. Superintendent of Police Dhananjay Kushwaha stated that the arrests were made as part of efforts to prevent the use of unfair means in the constable recruitment examination. The accused are currently undergoing interrogation. The monitoring team of the Kotwali police station has been instrumental in making these arrests, which were carried out in various locations including Jhansi, Ghazipur, and Mau, according to officials.
