Woman bitten by snake at Long Reef Beach in Sydney

A woman has been rushed to hospital after she was bitten by a snake on her ankle in Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Paramedics were called to Pittwater Rd in Collaroy, near Long Reef Beach, on Sunday about 4.30pm.

The woman, aged in her 40s, was bitten by a snake on her right ankle.

She was taken to Northern Beaches Hospital on Sunday, and has since been discharged.

She was at the beach with her young son, the Northern Beaches Advocate reported.

The family had been on the dunes when the woman was bitten.

A second snake bite victim was also taken to Northern Beaches Hospital on Sunday, the hospital confirmed.

The second bite victim has also been discharged.
