Young man dies in horrific crash in West Bathurst, NSW

A young man has died in a horrific crash in the NSW Central Tablelands region on Sunday night.

The 25-year-old was behind the wheel of a Holden hatchback when it crashed into a pole at the intersection of Rocket and Larson St at West Bathurst about 9.50pm.

The driver before being freed by rescue crews and treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

A 19-year-old passenger was treated for minor injuries and taken to Bathurst Base Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
