H&M Group names new comms chief, Alpen switches roles

H&M Group has named a new Communications Director with Hendrik Alpen, who’s currently Head of Engagement and Transparency within H&M Group Sustainability, taking on the key role.

H&M

He succeeds Andreas Eriksson, who we’re told “has decided to leave the company to explore new opportunities”.

It’s a big job with the company being the second-largest fashion retailer globally. As well as its giant H&M chain, it also operates the international H&M Home, Cos, Arket, & Other Stories, Monki, Weekday and Afound brands.

Alpen looks like a good choice. He has “a long background within the company, with extensive experience from both communications and sustainability, in Sweden, Bangladesh and Germany, where he previously worked as Head of Communications and PR”.

He takes up the post in January reporting directly to group CEO Helena Helmersson.
