“It is an honor to join such an innovative and inspiring team. Looking forward to what’s to come!”

In its most recent trading update, Nike Inc. reported sales that were stronger than anticipated as the company ramped up a multiyear cost-cutting plan in the face of weaker demand for its sneakers and apparel.

Nike’s sales in the Chinese market rose 4.5% in the quarter, while in North America, sales hit $5.07 billion, up 3.2%.
